The Polar Thermo Attic Ladder is our most highly insulated and airtight attic ladder which we have readily available to install. This ladder is laboratory certified to achieve Class 4 airtight sealing and has a fantastic U-Value.

This Polar model has an 86 millimetre insulation filled hatch with a double seal system to prevent heat and air loss through your trapdoor. The Irish government is now recommending airtight attic hatches for all new build homes. The folding ladder is constructed using high quality pine timber, using dovetail joints and premium resin glue to achieve a maximum working load of 160kg.

The timber used in the making of this attic stairs is FSC environmentally rated, this means it has only been supplied by responsible sources. This ladders trapdoor minimises heat loss, which in turn can reduce consumption, making it even more kind to the environment.  

The "Polar Thermo" is the best choice for people trying to achieve a high building energy rating (B.E.R.) on their home. If you are attempting to build an "Airtight" home, you can be confident in the fact that this attic stairs is you best option as we take care to seal all around the opening by using chalk sealant around the architrave and on request we can also use airtight tape under the architrave. This ladder has an independently certified class 4 airtight hatch.

The "Compact Thermo" is a timber folding attic ladder, which folds in four parts, meaning the frame of the ladder can be shorter (1000 millimetres) and also the ladder itself needs less clearance to fold out.

The door of the Compact Thermo is constructed using the same sandwich method as our standard Thermo and comes with the same 26 millimetre insulation. 

The timber used in the making of this attic stairs is FSC environmentally rated, this means it has only been supplied by responsible sources. 

This folding attic stairs is perfect for those who want an all timber ladder, but do not have the space for the stander version. It is also worth noting that the Compact comes in 550 millimetres wide, which is designed for homes with a truss roof construction. Where our space saver ladder is not available in 550 wide.

We are conscious that while our Auto Electric Attic Stairs is of fantastic design and build quality, it is an expensive product. Which is why we offer this basic version which is the same high quality product but without some of the nonessential parts, so you can save a little money.

This ladder is powered by the same premium quality FAAC motor as the elegant version, the difference being that the ladder has a bare metal finish, no carpet on the steps, no insulation on the trapdoor and only one handrail. It operates in the same way as the premium version, you simple press and hold one button and the ladder will open and close entirely on its own.
